About Sacred Arts Homeschool Choirs Sacred Arts Homeschool Choirs began in 2000 in order to give our students an opportunity to grow musically in a group setting. It has been our goal to foster the love of music as well as the acquisition of musical skills. The choirs have also been a source of fellowship and encouragement to the students. Despite our humble beginnings, today there are four choirs and over 100 students in the program. Jubilate Deo, (formerly "Prep Choir") is our preparatory ensemble for students ages eight to ten. Deo Gratias is our treble ensemble for students ages ten to fourteen. Young men whose voices are changing or have changed before fourteen have the opportunity to sing with both Deo Gratias and Coram Deo, which is our high school ensemble. As of 2019 we have added an ensemble for students ages five to seven, Cantabo! See our REGISTRATION FORM for full program details. Concerts We have one FREE formal concert each semester to share our music! CantaboAges 5-7
Cantabo is Latin for "I Sing!" Our youngest singers learn to use and enjoy their own unique voices as they sing in praise to God. Jubilate DeoAges 8-10
Jubilate Deo is Latin for "rejoice in the Lord," or "make a joyful sound unto the Lord." As choral singers we have the incredible opportunity to joyfully lift our voices in praise to our Creator. Deo GratiasAges 11-14*
Deo Gratias means "thanks be to God." In training our voices and singing together we express gratitude to the Lord for all He has done for us on the cross. *Young men, whose voices are changing are invited to sing in both Deo Gratias and Coram Deo. Mrs. Swanson will work with you to determine placement. Coram Deo
Ages 14-18
Coram Deo translated means, "before the face of God," which we interpret to mean, "living boldly in the presence of God." This sums up our ultimate desire to train our voices to praise our awesome God. |
